A First Step:
This is the first post on this new blog. I want to introduce my blog and what it will be all about.
I am a CPA who has an accounting practice in La Grange, IL (a suburb of Chicago) where I work with companies ranging from the start-ups to multi-million dollar mid-sized companies. I am smack dab in the middle of main street, USA and hear about the hopes and fears of these various business. Yes, this ranges from concerns over Obama care, the Fiscal Cliff and how to harness the latest and greatest in technology so that their companies can grow. I work with companies that are adding locations, bringing on new employees, and expanding product lines. I also work with companies that are struggling to keep their doors open and I see their challenges. My experiences will factor heavy here.
I hope to make my posts timely, informative and hopefully, entertaining.
I've got an idea for a blog posting. How can you find a financial advisor who's really trustworthy? My husband put the 401k from his years at DCI into an IRA with Merrill Edge via Bank of America. In 4 months, he got 75 cents! Once I retire, I want to put 50% of my money into a Prudential IRA and invest 50% into the Kevin O'Leary's mutual funds. Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank's monthly returns look attractive, but you are supposed to have a financial planner pick the product. Being scared by watching American Greed, I don't want to get taken. I don't want to play penny ante with some well trusted bank, either. What to do?
